A developer appointed us as project management consultant on a residential block being built by three separate contractors, after cost overruns on their previous project.
Scope of work
BOQ validation, tender re-evaluation, hold-point quality audits, running-bill certification, programme control and monthly cost reporting.
Challenges on this project
Our first measurement audit found that certified quantities in the substructure exceeded actual measured work by a material margin. We introduced joint measurement before every bill and a photographic record tied to each measurement sheet, which ended the discrepancy.
Outcome
Structure is at the eighth floor and tracking to the baseline programme. Certified cost is currently running under the revised budget.
