A clear-span storage facility with a 12-metre eaves height, four dock levellers, a mezzanine office block and an internal circulation road capable of taking 40-foot trailers.
Scope of work
Site development, foundations, pre-engineered building erection, flooring, dock equipment, office block and external infrastructure.
Challenges on this project
The soil investigation returned a low bearing capacity with a high water table in the north-west corner. Rather than deepen every footing, we redesigned that zone on a raft with ground improvement, which held the cost within budget. Separately, the 42,000 sq.ft. floor required an FM2-class flatness for the racking system, achieved with laser-screed placement in bays.
Outcome
Floor flatness verified to specification across the full slab. The facility was racked and operational three weeks after handover.
